Abstract
526,237. Making extracts. MERZ, V. Jan. 11, 1939, No. 990. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, July 12, 1939.] [Class 81 (i)] [Also in Group I] Material in a vessel 1 is treated with an extracting liquid introduced through hollow perforated paddles 4 on a rotating shaft 3 and, after settlement, the solution formed. is withdrawn through a filter 7, which can be raised and lowered by means of a screwed spindle 8 and has a flexible discharge pipe 10. The solid material is discharged through a manhole 14 which may be fitted with a strainer 15, through which liquid can drain away to an outlet 18. The filter may be cleansed by a reverse flow from the pipe 10 or by liquid sprayed on the outside from a pipe 12. Specification 17848/97, [Class 46], is referred to.
