Abstract

525,855. Monogrammic signs. NEOGRAPH, Ltd., and KNEPPER, F. March 2, 1939, No. 6812. [Class 118 (ii)] A luminous sign of the kind described in Specification 523,192 comprises a single electric discharge tube bent to such a configuration as to enable any one sign of a series, such as letters or numerals, to be displayed in a distinctive manner by rendering luminous one or more portions of the tube. The tube is provided with electrodes at intervals along its length in order to enable any desired portions to be rendered luminous and parts of the tube may be blackened or otherwise rendered opaque. The drawing shows a suitable configuration for the tube.
