Abstract

525,255. Knitting-machines. F. N. F., Ltd., PEEL, R., and MORRISON, J. L. M. Feb. 14, 1939, No. 798/40. Divided out of 524,969. [Class 74 (ii)] The motion of the sinker-carrying bar 73 is derived from two eccentrics 11, 12 connected in parallel, one of which is arranged to rotate at twice the speed of the other. In the form shown, eccentric rods 56, 57 actuated by the eccentrics 11, 12 are mounted at the ends of a lever 58, which is itself carried by a lever 60. The lever 60 is secured by a link 62 to a level 63 mounted upon a rocking shaft 64, and a second arm 65 secured to the rocking shaft 64 is pivoted at 66 to arms 67 carrying the sinker bar 73. The arm 65 and a link 69 are so proportioned that the sinkers move in approximately a straight path. Modifications of the coupling of the eccentric rods to the sinker bar are described.
