Abstract

524,239. Turning. BUTTERWORTH BRITISH AUTOMATIC MACHINE TOOL CO., Ltd., and BUTTERWORTH, H. Jan. 25, 1939, No. 2524. [Class 83 (iii)] Turrets for lathes &c., have one race of each of a pair of spaced ball bearings 12, 13 fixed in the turret slide whilst the other races are carried by the turret, one of each pair of races being conical and axially adjustable by nuts 4 so that the loading on the bearings may be adjusted. The turret is rotated by a cam 5 engaged by a roller 6 on a bevel wheel 7 and locked by a bolt 10 engaging a notched ring 11.
