Abstract

523,850. Brushes &c. PAULSEN, J. F. Jan. 16, 1939, No. 1481. Convention date, May 25, 1938. [Class 19] Metallic brushes particularly rotary brushes in which wire strands constituting the bristles are looped through holes in a mounting plate have the loops embedded in a mass of rubber or the like plastic material which holds the strands resiliently. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, strands 2 are looped at 3 through holes in a mount 1 and plates 4, 5 of rubber are vulcanized in position. The mounting may be of brass or brass-coated so that the rubber adheres thereto. In another construction, Fig. 5, the rubber 18 forms a plate located between two mountings 14, 15, the bristles 16, 17 of which face in opposite directions.
