Abstract

523,452. Trawling-gear. SUBERKRUB, F., ROSCHER, E. K. L., and HANSING, K. J. Dec. 29, 1938, No. 37773. [Class 48] An otter-board or trawl-board has, when in'trawling position, a height greater than its length and presents a concave face to the direction of towing. The board in trawling position makes an angle of less than 35‹ with the direction of towing, and has its planks vertical and stiffeners horizontal. The board shown in Fig. 10 has a number of vertical parts 12a with vertical slots between, 13 being the towing line and 14 the net line. The board may be made of a single plate of metal or plywood, and has iron plates and runners.
