Abstract
523,414. Splash plates and plate-racks for cookers. RADIATION, Ltd.. YATES, H. J., and MARSTON, H. Jan. 5, 1939, No. 377. [Class 126] A splash plate a is provided on its opposite side flanges with reinforcing bars c which are mounted by pivots d on brackets e at the rear of the cooker and are normally held vertical against stops n on the brackets by a locking bar g passing through slots h in the brackets and attached by springs c to the pivots d or other parts of the brackets. The locking bar carries two radial arms j engaging abutments m on the brackets e and a finger lever k which when pressed downwardly unlocks the splash plate and enables it to be turned downwards to act as a hot-plate cover. A plate rack o may be pivoted to the bars c so as to be held normally in the horizontal position by a locking bar t slidable in grooves s in the bars c and engaging extensions q on the rack bars p. On raising the bar t the rack may be turned vertically against the plate a where it is held by the engagement of the bar t with projections r on the extensions q.
