Abstract

523,162. Envelopes. FRENCH, G. W., and BEASLEY, FRENCH, & CO.. Ltd. Dec. 23, 1938. No. 37530. [Class 146 (ii)] [Also in Group XVII] Envelopes &c. with or without closure flaps 12 are provided with pre-gummed strip material 15, applied to either side thereof, free tab-like portions 16 being left by which the envelope mouths may be closed by tucking-in the closure flaps and then either adhering the tabs 16 about the mouth portions or inserting the same through slots provided on the envelope body or flap portions. In a modification, Fig. 7, the ends of the envelopes may be cut flush and, after insertion of the contents, folded over at 28 and held in place by adhering therearound the gummed tabs 16a, 16b. The tabs 16 may be left ungummed and the strip material 15 may form the longitudinal seam in each envelope body.
