Abstract
520,796. Liquid-dispensing apparatus. CHAPPLOW, W. L., and BOWNASS, K. A. Nov. 2, 1938, No. 31777. [Class 116] [Also in Group XXIX] In apparatus for dispensing liquids such as beer on draught a junction box is provided to enable the piping to be neatly arranged and to facilitate the changing of the piping or casks. According to the invention the junction box comprises a chamber having two or more outlets and an inlet for connection to a cask of liquid and provided with a non-return valve. In the form shown a chamber A, Figs. 1 and 2, has four hollow bosses B to receive a pipe joint union for connection to different delivery points. The chamber A has lugs C for securing it to a ceiling or other support D and has a screw-threaded lower end to receive a cover E with a pair of pipe joint bosses F machined inside to form seatings for ball valves G. The junction box may be adapted for mounting on a floor or wall the non- return valves being suitably modified.
