Abstract
520,344. Motor mountings. ELECTROLUX, Ltd. Oct. 18, 1938, No. 30164. Convention date, Oct. 20, 1937. [Class 35] A motor-fan unit of a horizontal type vacuum cleaner is supported at its ends in a frame secured at one end only to a transverse wall mounted within the cleaner casing. In the form shown, the motor 16 is supported by springs 25, 26 in a frame consisting of the wall 20 and the ring 24 secured thereto by bolts 23, the wall 20 being secured to the reinforcing member 18 forming part of the cleaner casing 10 and being provided with pockets for the switch 35 and the plug socket. Resilient material is preferably inserted between the wall 20 and the casing. The wall 20 also supports the inner casing 27 which may be an extension of the fan hood 28. While some of the air passes over the motor periphery, the remainder passes through the motor by means of apertures 31, 32.
