Abstract

519,623. Controlling aircraft. MESSERSCHMITT, W. Aug. 11, 1938, No. 23763. Convention date, Sept. 24, 1937. [Class 4] An inlet aperture @b for air disposed in the trailing outerportion of an aircraft wing is connected to an aperture d disposed in the inner portion of the wing at a position where the suction is greater than that existing at the aperture b. A cut-off valve may be disposed in the connection and this valve may be controlled automatically through an electric or hydraulic relay by a device, e.g., a pitot-tube, responsive to air-speed.
