Abstract
519,430. Hydraulic machines. MERCIER, J. Sept. 22, 1938, No. 27626. Convention date, Sept. 27, 1937. [Class 69 (ii)] In hydraulic apparatus for simultaneously controlling two movable parts, such as aircraft wings or vehicle brakes, a distributing device comprises a cylinder 1 with a conduit 3 for the admission of pressure fluid and with conduits 4, 5 leading to the two parts to be moved, a slide valve 2 with two pistons 6, centering springs 51 between the cylinder and collars 50 on the valve, and a lever 53 pivoted at 52 to the valve and at 54, 54<1> to links 55, 56 connected to the two parts to be moved. When the latter move in a predetermined relationship, the lever 53 rocks about the pivot 52 and does not affect the valve 2. When this relationship is upset, one of the links 55, 56 moves quicker than the other, the pivot 52 is displaced, and the valve 2 is moved so that one of the pistons 6 closes one of the conduits 4, 5 to automatically brake the quicker moving part. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91' comprises also the modification shown in Fig. 2 (Cancelled) according to which the valve 2 is connected to a piston 58 in a cylinder 59 which is connected by conduits 60, 60<1>, 61, 61<1> to cylinders 62, 62' containing pistons 63, 63' connected to the two parts to be moved ; in addition it states that the apparatus may control more than two movable parts. This subject-matter does not does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
