518,557. Stuffing boxes. TRIST & CO., Ltd., R., and WAKELEY, T. L. Aug. 27, 1938, No. 25239. [Class 122 (v)] The body of a lipped packing ring, collar, or cap, is formed mainly or wholly of fibrous material, e.g., sheets of fabric pressed between sheets of rubber, while the lip 1 is made of flexible moulded rubber or rubber substitute. The body of a lipped portion in contact with the stationary part may be coated with the same material as the tip. In a modification, the tip may be of fibrous material, hinged by' rubber &c. to the tongue. Specifications 14379/04, 4267/07, [both in Class 122], and 1873/12, [Class 122 (i)], are referred to.
