[Class 78 (i)] Apparatus for the discharge' of biscuits &c. from pans or from wire-mesh trays termed " Wires " carried by an oven or like endless conveyer provides alternative means for facilitating the discharge according to whether pans or wires are in use. In discharging from pans 11, Fig. 1, or an oven conveyer 10 the biscuits are stripped by resilient fingers 19 such as described in Specification 428,775 along which they are moved by flaps 43 on an endless band for transfer to an intermediate conveyer 23 passing over a knife edge 24, the fingers and knife edge being reciprocated in operation by a rod 21 from a cam 20a. When discharging from " wires " 12, Fig. 2,- the fingers 19 are withdrawn clear by moving their pivoted mounting 16 along a slot 17 in the framework and the endless band of flaps is replaced by an air pervious endless band 29 against which the biscuits on the wires are blown and held by jets of air applied by a nozzle 140 until deposited on the conveyer 23. The air blast arrangement may be replaced or assisted by the arrangement described in Specification 319,227, [Class 78 (i)]. The flap-carrying conveyer, which may be constructed as described in Specifications 428,775 or 456,747 may be applied over the air pervious conveyer in changing over the delivery from " wires " to pans. In a modified arrangement the flap-carrying band and the air-pervious band are mounted side by side for lateral movement into operative positions. Specification 492,685 also is referred to.
