Abstract

515,694. Closures for containers BERNHARDT, R. June 7, 1938, No. 16907, [Class 125 (iii)] A closure 8 for a container for holding and dispensing viscous liquids comprises a discharge spout 11, a closing member 14 integral with a channel-shaped slide 15 which is movable in a slot or guideway 18 under control of a spring 23, a handle 9, 10 secured to the closure and a finger-piece 17 on the slide 15. In operation the container is supported by the handle 9, 10 and the slide 15 drawn back by the finger-pliece 17. During the pouring operation air is admitted. to the container through a vent hole 26 in the closure 8 which registers with a slot in the slide 15.
