[Class 29] A machine for freezing soft ice-cream and delivering it in small quantities on demand includes a storage chamber for the unfrozen mixture cooled by an evaporator coil 24 in series with a coil 42 around the freezer chamber 40 and by a heat interchanger 126 in which liquefied refrigerant flowing through a coil 124 from the condenser 118 and receiver 120 is cooled by the cold vapour returning to the compressor 116. A baffle 130 in the interchanger traps unevaporated liquid.
