Abstract
514,416. Loom picking-mechanism. CAMPS, J. P. May 6, 1938, No. 13547. Convention date, May 11, 1937. [Class 142 (iii)] Picking motions; picking sticks; checking picking sticks.-The picking-stick 22 can slide endways in a member 15 and carries a roller 20 moving in a curved slot 11a which causes the upper end of the stick to move in a straight line. The slot 11a is in a bracket 11 secured to and oscillating with the slay 27. The member 15 is mounted to be oscillated in the bracket 11 to effect picking by a cam 4, a two armed lever 9 mounted at 10 on the loom frame and a two armed lever 13 mounted at 14 on the bracket 11. An adjustable spring 37 returns the picking stick. At the end of the picking stroke the stick is checked by a torsion rod 29 which is connected with the member 15 by a coupling 30 which allows freedom up to the end of the picking stroke.
