Abstract

513,767. Reciprocating pumps for hot viscous liquids. EVANS & SONS (WOLVERHAMPTON), Ltd., J., and BRINDLEY, J. June 29, 1938, No. 19213. [Class 102 (i)] A reciprocating pump for hot viscous liquids such as tar is fitted on its delivery side with a cushioning chamber A supplied with steam. The supply may pass through a regulating stop valve H, a pressure gauge K, and a non-return valve J. The chamber A may be fitted at intervals with cocks B, F, G for testing the level of the liquid being pumped, and with an isolating valve L and a drain cock M so that the liquid may be blown out by steam.
