Abstract

513,497. Bolts, screws &c. COLEMAN, C. J., and PITT, G. April 9, 1938, No. 10883. [Classes 89 (i) and 89 (ii)] A wood screw, bolt &c. is provided with a tapered conical cavity for driving purposes and may be engaged by a tapered driving tool which may have a polygonal section to provide edges for gripping the tapered wall of the cavity. As shown in Fig. 2, a wood screw is provided with a stepped conical cavity, the upper parts c<3,> c<2> being in the form of truncated cones, and the lower part a pointed cone. The shank part of a bolt as well as the head part may have a conical shaped cavity.
