Abstract
513,443. Pyjama &c. belts &c. ATKIN, G. H., and ATKIN, R. J. April 8, 1938, No. 10804. [Class 141] [Also in Group VIII] A pyjama &c. girdle belt or band is composed of knitted fabric and has several longitudinal elastic threads 3 incorporated in one or more sections 2, 2a of its length between its ends. The stitch loops are substantially uniform in size throughout the length of the band and the elastic threads, which are of wrapped or unwrapped rubber of round or other cross section, are incorported under a suitable tension during the knitting process so as to compact the material of the elastic sections and give the girdle a substantially close-fit when worn. The fabric may be knitted of plural threads by the process described in Specification 469,890, [Group VIII]. Threads forming stitch loops at one part of the band may be anchored in the knitted mesh of another without forming such loops as described in Specification 474,816, [Group VIII]. Non-elastic weft threads may be incorporated in the non-elastic sections to stiffen them and minimize curling.
