511,899. Colour kinematography; optical systems. KAMPFER, A. H. Sept. 19, 1938, No. 27271. Convention date, Sept. 20, 1937. [Class 97 (i)] For projecting in register a group of colour record images contained within a normal kinematograph frame, the group is illuminated by a single source and the rays divided in front of the film by: lenses and prisms into separate beams, one for each image, which are displaced and enlarged in cross-section to allow each to be focused by a normal sized objective adjustable for registration. In the form shown, the lenses are formed integral with the prisms 3, as convex surfaces ground on the ends of the constricted portions 4. The objections 5 may have diaphragms 14 and if required, supplementary lenses 16 for focusing the image in theatres of abnormal size. Colour fitters 6 are clamped between glass plates 15. Each objective may be moved in two perpendicular directions for registration, by screws 10, 11, 10', 11<1> &c. Wedge members 13 are used to enable the screw 10<111> to be placed in an accessible position. The objectives, prisms &c. form a unit for attachment to a normal projector. The unit is adjustable on guides 9 by rack and pinion operated by the knob 8.
