Abstract

510,900. Brushes &c. BARLOW, R., and SHERWOOD, M. M. M. Feb. 18, 1938, No. 5190. [Class 19] A container for a brush mop or the like conprises a sheet metal body portion 1, Fig. 1, and a pair of flaps 5, 6 hinged at 8, 10 near the ends so that the free edges meet in the closed position. The flap 5 is cut away at 12 to receive a brush 15, Fig. 2, and the flaps are coupled together by links 13 so that they may both be opened or closed by the movement of the brush. The front flap 6 has a flange 14, Fig 1, so as to limit the opening movement of the flap. Thus a slight closure movement causes the flap to return past the top dead centre and fall by its weight with the closed position. The brush handle 16 is provided with a shoulder 17 to support the brush and the stock is gradually enlarged in cross section beyond the shoulder so that the bulge engages the underside of the part 12 to open the flaps. A receptacle 20 for disinfectant may be added for use in water closets.
