[Class 106 (iv)] [Also in Group XVIII] The scale 3 of a personal weighing - machine or other apparatus is illuminated by a circular neon tube 7 placed in an opening in the scale plate 6, the light being reflected on to the scale by a frosted annulus 10, formed on a cover plate 3. Some of the light passes through the annulus. Parts of the cover plate 3 may be transparent to expose to view the scale markings and the instrument mechanism.
