[Class 121] [Also in Group III] A process for sizing and lubricating textile threads consists in treating the threads with a dilute aqueous emulsion of gelatine or starch, a quantity of petroleum less than that of the gelatine or starch, and a quantity of sulphonated fatty oil less than half that of the petroleum ; e.g. gelatine 4 per cent, petroleum oil 0.3 per cent, sulphonated olive oil 0.06 per cent. About 0.05 per cent triethanolamine oleate may be added.
