Abstract

508,168. Shelf brackets. PLATERS & STAMPERS, Ltd. (Katzinger Co., E.) Oct. 13, 1938, No. 29709. [Class 52 (v)] A shelf bracket comprises a flat shelfsupporting portion 2 having side parts bent to form guide channels 6 and an adjustable member 4 slidable in the channels to permit shelves of various widths to be supported. The bracket comprises two integral portions 1, 2 of strip sheet metal disposed at right. angles, the part 1 having.holes 3 by which it is secured to a wall. The downwardly-bent channels 6 are extended to form oppositely disposed spaced lugs 7, 8 to embrace the slidable member 4, the lugs 8 being bent slightly upwardly to form a yieldable stop 9 co-operating with the edges 10, 11 of openings 12, 13 in the slidable member. The edges 10, 11 are rounded to permit deflection of the stop 9 when the member 4 is pulled out for adjustment or removal. A strengthening stay 14 is provided between the parts 1, 2. The shelf rests between shoulders 16, 17, and a finger piece 5 is provided for adjustment of the sliding member.
