Abstract
506,214. Reciprocating pumps. KELLIE & SON, Ltd., R., and KELLIE, R. W. March 25, 1938, No. 9131. [Class 102 (i)] In a machine for filling jars with preserves or other liquid or semi-liquid substances which includes a table top arranged below the distributing head and carrying the travelling jars to be filled, a reciprocating pump being arranged below the table top, the pump driving mechanism includes a link-motion interposed between the usual rotary crank or eccentric 8 and the slide 12 moving with the piston rod 13 of the pump 14, and having a stroke-regulating component operatively connected to a hand-wheel 21 or the like arranged above the table top 6. The link motion includes a rock-lever 2 pivoted at 4, connected by a rod and strap 7 to the eccentric 8, and. connected by a link 11 to the slide 12, the link 11 being connected to the rock-lever by a pin 15 which is vertically adjustable-in a slot 16 in the rock-lever. The pin 15 is carried by a link 17 pivoted at 18 and carried by a non-rotatable sleeve 19 threaded on a vertical rod 20 connected to the hand-wheel 21. The upper end of the sleeve L9 may carry an index which traverses a scale on a face plate 24.
