[Class 52 (iii)] In extending-tables of the kind having a top composed of two leaves or panels 7, 8 hinged together at 9 and slidable on a supporting frame 1 by guide members on the underside of the top so that when one leaf is moved clear of the frame it can be folded down, the supporting frame is provided with side bars 4 joined by transverse bars 6 at a lower level and having, above the transverse bars, guides 5 on their inner faces adapted to be engaged by guides 14 on the outer faces of bars 13 secured beneath one or both leaves. As shown, the leaf 7 is provided with the guide bars 13 and the folding leaf 8 has plain guide bars 15 sliding over the inside. faces of the frame members 4. Stops 16, 17 limit the sliding movement of the top by engaging the ends of a side bar 4. Additional guide bars may be fixed to the leaves to engage the outer faces of the bars 4.
