Abstract
505,593. Filing-cabinets. REMING- TON RAND, Inc. Nov. 13, 1937, No. 31257. Convention date, Nov. 13, 1936. [Class 146 (i)] A filing tray or cabinet, having pivoted end walls 3, 4 that can be moved from their normal vertical positions to outwardly inclined positions, is provided with covers 17 which, when they are moved from the closed position to the open position, lie beyond and support the end walls in their outwardly inclined positions. The end walls 3, 4 are pivoted at their lower edges 5 and have segmental guide members 6 thereon, their inward movement beyond the vortical position being prevented by stops. Each cover part 17 is in the form of an inverted U and is pivoted at 20 to the sides 1 of the tray so as to cover the upper edges thereof in the closed position. Pins 28 on the sides of the walls 3, 4 engage grooves 24 on the insides of the coyers so shaped that after the covers have been partially opened the pins engage the ends of the grooves so that further opening of the covers causes the walls 3, 4 to be moved outwardly. Locking-means 32 may be provided on the covers. Toothed members 13 are fixed to the base 12 of the tray, and the lower edges of the cards or a partition 14 rest in the depressions of the members 13.
