505,224. Coin-freed ticket - issuing apparatus. BRECHNELL, MUNRO, & ROGERS (1928), Ltd., and DOLMAN, H. J. Nov. 25, 1937, No. 32435. [Class 27] [Also in Groups XIX and XVII] In a device for delivering tickets from a continuous strip, the strip is fed to' a pair of issuing-rollers and then cut to separate the foremost portion, the ticket thus formed being fed forwardly by rotation of the rollers so that it protrudes from the front of the rollers but is held therebetween, the rollers being free to rotate forwardly independently of their driving mechanism to facilitate the removal of the ticket by the purchaser. The invention is shown as applied to a machine for printing and issuing tickets from a strip 31. Upon the insertion of a coin or coins, or the rotation of a handle, rollers 3, 4 feed the forward end of the strip to spring-pressed issuing-rollers 21, 22 and a knife 11 severs it to form a ticket 32. The issuing-rollers are driven from the feed-rollers and serve to feed the ticket to the position shown, in which its forward end projects through an aperture 29 in the casing. The manual removal of the ticket is facilitated by incorporating in the drive to the issuing- rollers an overrun device comprising pawls, 23, 24 on the rollers co-operating with ratchet wheels 25, 26 on driving pinions 13, 14.
