Abstract

504,334. Hair - waving apparatus. WERNER, A., and CARLSSON, S. Sept. 9, 1938, No. 26329. [Class 131] Hair is waved by drawing it between spring- pressed rollers 8, 9 across a sharp metal edge 1 carried by a wedge 2. The rollers, which are absorbent and-soaked with a wetting-agent, are journalled in slots 10 in arms 5, 6, stops 12 limiting the inward movement of the arms. The rollers and /or the wedge 2 may be fitted with heating devices. In a modification, Figs. 3 and 4, parallel-moving jaws 15, 16 are provided with ribs 17, 18 between which absorbent pads 19, 20 are housed, the hair 13 being pressed against a sharp edge 1 on the jaw 16 by means of a pad 14 on the jaw 15. The pads may be provided with heating devices, and the upper jaw carries a container 21 for cooling liquid which is fed to a pad 23.
