Abstract

503,363. Brake shoes. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO., Ltd., and GATES, G. R. G. March 7, 1938, No. 7137. [Class 103 (i)] A brake shoe formed of rolled T-section metal is reinforced by welding to the inner edge of the web 10 adjacent the anchor pin, a piece of sheet metal 14 lying in the plane of the web and tapering towards the centre of the shoe. The shoe shown is for a brake as described in Specification 487,262, being provided with a slot 15 adapted to slide on a rectangular block pivoted on the anchor pin. The ends of the webs of a pair of shoes may be displaced laterally as indicated at 21 so that they may lie side by side or the web as a whole may be displaced from the centre line of the rim for this purpose.
