[Class 78 (i)] In machines for wrapping sweetmeats of the kind including an intermittently rotatable mould wheel, oscillatable arm, or the like having one or more pockets formed therein and a pair of opposed rack-like members which are reciprocated to withdraw the sweetmeats from the pockets, the rack mechanism is actuated by eccentric mechanism working in conjunction with a cam actuated toggle linkage. The opposed rack-like members 6, 7, Fig. 3, have teeth 9 which form pockets for the sweetmeats 11 when the racks are moved into contact. Each rack is secured to a longitudinal member 13, Fig. 1, from which depend brackets 14 slidably mounted on spindles 16. The latter are mounted at each end in bearings 17, 17a which are supported by webs 18a from bearings 18, 18b, Fig. 2, mounted on a shaft 21. Bearings 19 for the ends of the shaft 21 are reciprocatable in vertical slots 19a in the side walls 20. A member 22 depending from a sleeve 22a on the shaft 21 carries rollers 24 which bear against cams 23 on a shaft 57. The rollers are kept in Contact with their cams by a spring-urged plate 25, the pressure on which can be adjusted by a screw 29. The lower parts of the brackets 14 are connected to sleeves 32 mounted on spindles 33. The ends of the sleeves are mounted in bearings 34 which are connected by webs 35 to sleeves 36 slidably mounted on spindles 37. Each sleeve is secured to plates 39 carrying spindles 41. Links 43 are pivotally connected at their ends to the spindles 41 and to arms 46 which are pivoted at 48. The arms are rocked by eccentrics 56 on the shaft 57.
