502,125. Incandescent gas &c. fires. RADIATION, Ltd., YATES, H. J., and STRINGER, W.L. Nov. 27, 1937, No. 32802. [Class 126] [Also in Group XIII] A gas or vapourized-oil fire comprises two or more incandescent radiating bodies b arranged horizontally one above another with their front sides exposed, a gas burner e beneath each body and directing flames on to it, firebrick or like back pieces c flanking the rear sides of the bodies b, passages, g through which the combustion products from the burners flow after passing the bodies b, the rear sides of these passages being made from metal, and a vertical air passage or passages i arranged behind the combustion product passages and open to the atmosphere at the upper and lower ends. In front of each burner is a shield d. The combustion products may pass directly into the room or into a chimney through an outlet j. Air can pass through ari opening in to the chimney. The Provisional Specification describes also the use of one horizontal radiating body only.
