501,573. Valve gear. LANCIA & CIA FABBRICA AUTOMOBILI TORINO SOC. ANON. Sept. 28, 1938, No. 28259. Convention date, Oct. 1, 1937. [Class 7 (vi)] In multicylinder engines with a domed combustion chamber and two inclined valves in each cylinder head, the valves are so arranged that the planes containing the axes of the stems are inclined to the cam shaft at one side of the cylinder heads, so that the adjacent ends of the -valve stems of two successive cylinders are side by side. The Figure shows an engine with two rows of cylinders having combustion heads 2 with pairs of inclined valves 4, 4<1> arranged so that their axes lie in planes c, d inclined to the cam shaft 3, which, in this case, is arranged between the two rows of cylinders. The spark plugs 11 are arranged at the sides as shown.
