Abstract

499,785. Discharge apparatus. BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., JONES, V. A., and SAMSON, K.A.R. July 29, 1937, No. 21019. [Class 39 (i)] Means in an electron discharge device for translating an optical image produced on a fluorescent screen 2 to a light-sensitive screen 3 comprises an assembly of parallel transparent rods 1. These may consist of glass, quartz or a transparent synthetic resin, and the fluorescent and lightsensitive materials are deposited on the ends of the rods. When the rods are required to form a vacuum-tight partition, they may be joined together by an adhesive material such as waterglass which does not dissociate in vacuo.
