Abstract

499,569. Pressure gauges. HARCOURT, B. W., and MANN, A. J. June 13, 1938, No. 17468. [Classes 106 (ii) and 106 (iv)] Comprises a construction of indicating " movement " for a diaphragm or Bourdon pressure gauge. A plate a is mounted in spaced relationship to the housing b containing the diaphragm c. A pin u extending from the diaphragm engages a short arm t on a spindle n rotatably mounted on and parallel to the plate a. A long arm w on the other end of this spindle engages an arm x on the spindle i of a toothed quadrant k mounted between the plate a and a plate f spaced from and secured to the plate a. The quadrant engages a pinion m on the pointer spindle. A spring y urges the pinion to keep the arms x and t against their drivers. The spindle n is preferably carried by a bracket p fastened to the plate by screws q of which one is adjustable in a slot to afford zero adjustment. The lever x may be provided with a curved extension forming a steadying inertia mass.
