Abstract

498,318. Folding seats. ARCHER, H. A., and HUTCHCOX, B. E., (trading as A.S.H. WOODCRAFT, [Firm of]). July 10, 1937, No. 19189. [Classes 52 (ii), 52 (iii), and 52 (v)] A folding seat 20 of the kind having a sliding and pivotal connection 26 to a vertical support 24, and a strut 22 hinged to the seat and to the support, is mounted in a cabinet or fitting forming the support so that when in collapsed position the seat 20 and the strut 22 form continuations of one another and form a closure for the open front of the cabinet. The cabinet may be fitted in a recess in a wall 5, and may comprise cupboards 14, 17. The seat 20 carries brackets 25 with projecting pins 26 which slide in grooves 24 in the side walls of the cabinet. In the lowest position the brackets 25 are supported on rails 27. The strut member 22 is provided with a handle 29 and a spring catch 30, 31.
