Benzene, which has been previously reacted with isopropyl or normal propyl chloride, is chlorinated until 3-5 atoms of chlorine have been introduced per molecule of isopropylbenzene, the resultant mixture of polychlorisopropylbenzenes being then, if desired, fractionated.
