Abstract

497,295. Tennis posts. PENROSE, D. R. Aug. 18, 1937, No. 22651. [Class 20 (i)] A vertical support for tennis, badminton, and like nets, and of the type comprising a base, a vertical post carried by the base, and supporting means between the post and base, has the post 4 provided with a lower notch 3, on the side opposite the net, to engage a projection on the base, and an upper notch 7 on the side adjacent the net to receive the end of the supporting means 5. The base may be of cast metal or may be formed of opposed angle-irons 1 connected by crosspins 2, and the supporting member may comprise opposed straps 5 connected by a bolt 6 at their free ends.
