495,735. Finishing fabrics. SONNINO, B. Sept. 13, 1937, No. 24908. Convention date, Sept. 11, 1936. [Class 42 (i)] Pile or nap, raising and dressing.-Pile is raised &c. by jets of air or gas with or without other fluids directed normally or obliquely against the surface of the fabric 2, and having a transverse movement relatively to the fabric and an intermittent relative movement in the direction of the length of the fabric. The jets or the fabric or both may be moved. The fabric is supported on a net of metal 1 or a fabric, or a smooth surface of wood, metal, &c. Opposing jets may be arranged to raise the pile on both surfaces of the fabric simultaneously.
