Abstract
494,792. Electric control systems. LANDIS & GYR AKT.-GES. Oct. 16, 1937, No. 28222. Convention date, Dec. 24, 1936. [Class 40 (i)] A selective receiver for use on an A.C. network of the type wherein selection is determined by the time interval between interruptions of the network current comprises a selector switch 1 having a contact arm 2, driven by a synchronous motor 7 which normally is open-circuited over a switch 8, and being capable of closing a circuit over one or other of the relay windings 16, 17. Normally with voltage on the network A, B, the switch is in the position shown and relay 12 is locked energized over relay contacts 19, 13. Upon an interruption of the network current, relay 12 releases and prepares a circuit over the arm 2 for the driving motor 7 which starts up when the network current is re-established and closes a maintaining circuit over the switch 8. The switch is thereby rotated and when the arm 2 engages contact 9, relay 12 is again locked energized and the arm 2 is cut out of circuit. A subsequent interruption stops rotation of the switch and releases relay 12 to prepare a circuit for the winding 16 or 17 over contact 14 or 15 the selected winding being energized when the interruption is terminated. Subsequently relay 12 is again locked energized, e.g. over contact 10 or 11 and just prior to the restoration of the switch, to its normal position, the motor circuit is opened by the switch 8. In a modification, the relay 12 is replaced by a slow-acting relay permanently connected to the network ; this avoids the use of the contacts 9, 10, 11. Instead of effecting selection and operation by a single final interruption, two or more interruptions may be used in combination.
