Abstract
494,509. Threads or cords. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., DUNLOP COTTON MILLS, Ltd., ANDERSON, J., and LANGSTRETH, M. March 25, 1937, No. 8789. [Class 120 (iii)] A cabled thread or cord for use in tyre covers, belts, &c. is made in three or more twisting operations the last three of which proceed in the same direction ; the antepenultimate operation is preferably the spinning operation. The cord may be subjected to a setting treatment by rubber or the like or a mixture thereof or by gum or by steaming during or after production of the cord and it may be stretched before, during, or after, setting. The setting treatment may be the rubberizing operation used when making cord fabric for tyres.
