Abstract

493,049. Television. BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., WILLANS, P. W., and NUTTALL, T. C. March 30, 1937, No. 8983. [Class 40 (iii)] Consecutive framing impulses, which are in different phase relation to the linesynchronizing impulses for intercalated scanning, are so relatively mistimed that the framing at the receiver occurs correctly. Both sets of synchronizing impulses are of the same amplitude and the framing impulses are separated by a low-pass filter comprising a resistance and a condenser with a time constant of long duration. The residual charge BC on the condenser varies with the time after a line impulse, and thus the initial voltage EF of the framing impulse FG passed by the filter and the time taken to reach the tripping voltage of the framing oscillator also vary. To overcome this, the initiation of the transmission of a framing impulse, which normally would occur at a time #T before a line impulse is delayed by a time #t, where T is the periodicity of the line impulses and t the duration of a line impulse. Specification 455,375 is referred to.
