Abstract

492,694. Railway signalling systems. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and BROWN, A. March 25, 1937, No. 8891. [Class 105] In a railway signalling system in which the axles are counted by a treadle-controlled relay TRA which on dropping effects the energization of the counting magnet CM, a full energization of the counting magnet (necessary for an accurate one-step movement of the mechanism) is obtained, even if the treadle operation is clipped short as at high speeds, by maintaining the relay TRA dropped by a short-circuit shunt formed by its own back contact tra1 in series with an interrupter contact INT of the counting magnet CM. When the full movement of the counting magnet mechanism is reached the short-circuit shunt is broken and the relay TRA is re-energized.
