Abstract

492,510. Pneumatic tyres. VALLETTE, G. March 2, 1938, No. 6564. Convention date, March 3, 1937. [Class 144 (ii)] A device for enabling tyres to be inflated from a stationary pipesystem on the vehicle comprises a flanged sleeve member a attached to the wheel and fitted over the bored spindle of a cupped member c having a nipple c<1> for connection to the air supply and a threaded connection with a collar b carrying the outer races of a ball bearing, the inner races being carried by the boss of the member a. The latter is recessed to house packing e which is held by means of a spring d<1> fitted between a cap nut d<2> and a washer d. The connection to the tyre is made through a nipple d3.
