Abstract

490,976. Valves. NUENNKE, C. H. GROTH-. Oct. 14, 1937, No. 27988. Convention date, Oct. 14, 1936. [Class 135] [Also in Group XXXVII] A valve b when in the position shown allows water to flow through pipes a and c and lift a piston g to close a switch s to a heater, the water then flowing on through a pipe d past the heater (not shown) so that hot water flows out through pipes f and e; when the valve b is turned clockwise through 90‹, cold water flows straight from a to e and a forked rod o, having a wider portion embracing a slot on the piston rod, is moved horizontally so that a narrower portion of the fork engages the slot to prevent the switch s being actuated. The movement of the rod o may also cause a contact t to disengage contacts u in the supply circuit.
