Abstract
488,709. Stoves for heating from above. RADIANT - HEATING, Ltd., and DOCKING, A. Jan. 12, 1937, No. 919. [Class 126] In a heating-appliance which from an elevated position directs radiant heat across the space to be heated, a device a which projects horizontally a spray or jet of air is arranged above the heating element and disperses hot air or gases rising therefrom. A plate d above the spray device a deflects gases rising vertically, and reflects radiant heat downwardly. The heating device may, as described in Specification 451,971, have a mixture of gas and air forced into a chamber with a porous refractory diaphragm s, on the outer surface of which combustion takes place. The fan supplying air to this chamber may also supply air to the air spray a. The air spray comprises a horizontal tube with a perforated plate e at each end. The plate d and the casing f are of anodized heat-resisting aluminium.
