Abstract
487,920. Tube cleaning apparatus. AMMENDOLA, G. July 29, 1937, No. 20992. [Class 99 (ii)] Apparatus for cleaning boiler &c. tubes located in banks comprises a frame in which is rotatably mounted a vertical shaft TV carrying resiliently mounted blade cutters &c. K, K<1>. The cutters are located between flanges J2, J<3> on the shaft and are provided with extensions l ... l<3> to fit loosely recesses J, J<1> in these flanges and with recesses or channels n ... n<3> to receive projections h<1>, h<2> on the said shaft, and, as shown, retaining springs m ... m<3> are located in and between recesses in the flanges and on the ends of the cutters. The frame is adapted to be supported from an upper row of tubes so as to be movable therealong by means of two pairs of rollers R ... R<3> located on axles AC, BD extending from members which are resiliently and rotatably mounted in an upper bar PQ of the frame and terminate in handles W, Z. Springs may be disposed between the cutters and the driving shaft.
