Abstract

486,987. Moulded buttons. MOULDED PRODUCTS, Ltd., and IRELAND, H. W. F. March 4, 1937, No. 6410. [Class 43] A button comprises a front portion 10 of moulded material such as synthetic resin in the back of which is moulded a tubular anchorage member 14, into which is inserted an attachment unit consisting of a metal cup 18 carrying a U-shaped shank 24 loosely in holes 23, the outer edge of the anchorage member then being turned down to secure the cup. The cup may have a notch 22 engaging with a corresponding projection 21 on the shoulder 20 of the moulded portion to prevent turning movement. In place of the U-shank, a single stem with an eye may be used. In a modification, (not shown), the rear part of the anchorage member 14 is contracted and an exterior groove is formed on it after the moulding operation, and the edge of the member 18 is spun into this groove.
