Abstract
484,289. Elastic fluid turbines; centrifugal pumps. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. Feb. 7, 1938, No. 3809. Convention date, Feb. 12, 1937. [Classes 110 (i) and 110 (iii)] In a turbine plant a compressor supplies cooling air through a pipe d to cool a combustion chamber a, and air at a higher pressure through a pipe c for combustion purposes. Fuel, which may be gas or oil, is supplied by way of a pipe b. The combined gases pass into a turbine f which drives the compressor. The latter may comprise an axial flow compressor h and a centrifugal compressor k. The exhaust gases from the turbine may pre-heat the air passing to the combustion chamber. An impact mill l for breaking up the fuel is embodied in the plant when coal-dust is used,
